PSA's

so a couple weeks ago, we watched a video (dr. seuss the lorax) which was about a guy who destroyed the environment for animals. they killed the trees to make their product, caused air pollution because of the factory, and littered all over the ground. we then were each to get in groups of 4 and come up with a topic and make a psa about it. my group came up with a rap which i wrote and they found their facts. it was all about littering and what we are doing to the environment and what we need to do to try to fix this problem. we all came together and watched each others groups. some of the topics that people talked about had to do with polar bears and how their habitat was dissapeappearing and how its causing them to die, one group talked about the ozone layer, and another group talked about global warning. i really enjoyed about how everyone set up their psa, but the one that i liked the best was my groups. i know that sounds maybe cocky or what not but i just really feel like it was good! lol like everyones was great and had good info, but we had good info and something that would keep our audience listening instead of just talking in a monotone voice because my generation does not like to hear just someone talking because they can get easily distracted.!!

The Human Footprint

In class we watched a video called the  human footprint which was basically talking about how much we consume in the earth. My reaction to the video was sad, shocked and it was a definite wake up call  for me because i really didnt notice how much of the earth we consume each day! the three things that schocked me the most about the video was that 1. we have affetced 83% of the earths land, 2. i didnt really realize that destroying the earth starts at the tender of 1, and 3.all of the huge numbers of the things that we consume in the earth. i never really noticed how much of that was so it was very shocking to me. The things that should be done is we really need to stop being lazy and try to do stuff. stop littering, turn off water when not using, turn off lights, car pool and many more!!

JUNIOR 2011-2012 enviromental science :)

helooooo :) my name is sydni! I’m a junior at glhs and I’m in environmental science with Mr. bruns!!  I am 15 years old! Yes i know i know I’m the baby of the group let’s not state the obvious! butttt i will be 16 this month WHOOP WHOOP lol umm things that i enjoy doing are singing and acting. I’ve been acting since i was 3 years old and the first time i sung in public was in 4th grade when i was like 8 :). I’ve sung in talent shows in 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th grade. I’ve done plays at the Columbus children’s theater and at catco. I’m considered a professional actress because i have been paid for it! Plays that i have been in are like "Junie B. Jones", "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever", "School House Rock", "Midsummers Knight Dream", "The Piano Lesson", and many more. My favorite subjects in school would probably be science, English, and choir. I am taking Health class this year and i like that class too. My least favorite school subjects would be math and history (sometimes). I usually like all my classes so when i say "least favorite", those are the ones that are harder for me to pay attention too but when i know what I’m doing in each subject then it’s fun! UM I forgot to talk about my family, but I have 2 sisters and 1 brother London, 21, Salma, 6, and Das, 7. A cool thing about my younger brother and sister is that their dad (my stepdad) is from Nigeria which makes them half whatever my mom is (Because she’s a lot of stuff) and half Nigerian! Future goals that I have for myself would be to move to New York after I graduate because I HATE Ohio and I will attend a performing arts school! Obviously I want to be in the entertainment industry for singing and acting. Something else that I really want to do is go to culinary school which is the total opposite of performing arts but I refuse to eat at fast food restaurants for the rest of my life! My expectations are to just have fun this year, to make good grades in all my classes, and to make it a great year! I hope that we have fun in environmental science this year class of 2013 lets do big things J
