Air Pollution

The topic that I chose to write about was Air Pollution and what it is doing to our environment and what we can do to fix it. Air pollution is basically chemicals, biological materials, and other things that are in the atmosphere that cause harm or discomfort to humans and other living organisms. I looked up 3 different articles that had to do with air pollution. i wanted all three to have good information, but different things about air pollution.The 1^starticle was from “National Geographic” and it just explained what air pollution was and the different types of air pollution. It’s stated that smog hanging over cities is the most familiar and obvious form of pollution. It also said that carbon dioxide is the main pollutant. Also sulfer dioxide and acid rain are some of the other pollutants.Some of the pollution can also come from volcanic eruptions. The 2^nd article was a “CNN” article that talked about what air pollution has done to countries. One of the countries that had pollution very bad was Iran. They declared a two day public holiday in Tehran after air pollution hit dangerous levels. Schools, public offices, universities, and banks were closed for 2 days. It was so bad that Tehrans downline skyline was barely visible at one point of time. Also, people were not to go outside and were encouraged to use public transportation.This also happened in china.The 3^rdarticle, “American Lung Association” and it talked about how we can have healthy air. It had 5 diffrent links that were basically different places with air pollution. It talked about healthy air in school, homes, work, and outside. It also talks about how it is not fair to people with lung disease and asthma. The article shows you ways to prevent air problems,how to know if there was a problem with the air, and what you can do to fix it for you and your family. I think that these sources definitley seem reliable. I do not think this is false information. Well my articles talk about different things, all of the articles are not for air pollution because they call it "bad"somewhere in the article. I do agree that it is "bad". There is nothing good about air pollution in my opinion and im pretty sure most people would agree. The articles do have sources and backup information. They give you links that say "for more information click here" and "any questions click here" Some interesting things that i learned from this article, well i pretty much know what air pollution is and the name is pretty much self explanatory, but something that i didnt think about is how bad air pollution is for most people. Especially for people with lung disease and asthma and Its just really sad to me. I also didnt know that it was so bad that people cant see buildings in their countries. This article definitley makes me want to make a difference. We are being selfish and not thinking about others. All of these factories and stuff are really destroying our earth and its even making our people very sick. We really should start thinking about the affect that we have on the environment.
